Jan 1 to June 30, 2009 Fill out the FAFSA to quality for federal financial aid All seniors who will graduate in 2009 and plan to pursue higher education should fill out the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1, 2008.  Many colleges require students to have the FAFSA completed by March 1st to get priority for available aid.  For more information and to fill it out go to www.fafsa.ed.gov/
May 15, 2009 Second Chance Scholarship Fund This scholarship is through the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. It is for graduating seniors who have overcome adversity in their life. For more information about the scholarship go here and for an application go here.
May 20, 2009 KCKCC- G.E.D. Presidential Scholarship Two full tuition scholarships are awarded to students who earn the highest G.E.D. scores at KCKCC.  Go here for more information.
May 30, 2009 Sallie Mae Fund- Unmet Need Scholarship Scholarships range from $1000 to $3800.  Must have a combined family income of less than $30,000 and have at least a 2.5 GPA.  For more information go here.
May 31, 2009? Bill Spaniol Memorial Scholarship A $500 scholarship through the Kansas Environmental Health Association for a graduating senior from a Kansas high school that is interested in biological or physical sciences.  Students must have a 3.0 GPA.  Go here for more information.
Applications accepted year round. Scholarships awarded Nov. 1 and June 1 Kansas Foster and Adoptive Children Scholarship Fund This scholarship can pay all tuition, fees, housing, and book costs at Kansas colleges. To be eligible for this scholarship students must have been or currently are foster children in the State of Kansas. This includes foster children who have been adopted. Go here for more information and an application.
June 1, 2009? Judge Cordell D. Meeks, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Scholarship for a senior student from Wyandotte County who has been involved with YouthFriends Corps.  Students must have a 2.5 GPA and plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college.  Information and an application are available on pages 5-9 of this document.
Until all spots are filled Donnelly/K-State Project TEACH Scholarship This is a full tuition scholarship for future ESL teachers.  The first two years are at Donnelly and the last two at K-State.  20 students are selected.  Students must speak a second language. None specified KU Multicultural Scholars Program KU program for students who are first generation, low-income, and of an ethnic minority.  Students must be accepted to KU.  Financial, academic and social  support is offered to students.  To apply go here.
June 15, 2009 KCKCC Endowment Association Grants Many scholarships are available through KCKCC.  Students must have applied and been accepted to KCKCC.  For more information go here
June 15, 2009 KCKCC Frank and Doris Schlagle Scholarship Scholarship covers tuition, fees, and books for students at KCKCC.  Students must be Kansas residents, have a 3.0 GPA, and have FAFSA in to KCKCC.  For information go here.
