College, College, College.....you hear everyone talk about it but why is it so important?   In other words, how will your life be different by earning a college degree?  Consider these reasons:

• Money!  According to the U.S. Census Bureau a person with a college Bachelor's degree will make approximately 1,000,000.00 dollars (Yes, that's 1 Million!) more money over the course of a lifetime than someone with only a high school degree.  This is only the start, too!  The statistics show that someone who goes on to earn a Doctoral or Professional degree will likely earn over 3 million dollars more than someone with only a high school degree.

• To have a career that you enjoy!  Everyday we hear people say "I hate my job".  Don't let that person be you.  By earning a college degree you'll have more job and career options available to you so you can pick one that you truly like.

• Make friends from around the world!  Most high schools have students from the same geographical area.  Most colleges, however, recruit students from all over the U.S. and international students.  This exposure to diversity can help you in many ways.  You never know how a diverse friend group can help you later in life.

• College is fun!  College campuses are full of cultural and entertainment activities.  These include concerts, plays, athletics, comedy, student groups and clubs, and (of course) parties.  You might discover a new talent or hobby that could change your life.  The key is to balance your academic and social life.
